The Curriculum Management and Academic Planning unit, located in the Office of the Registrar, is seeking an entry-level professional to assist with curriculum technologies, including the general catalog, and curriculum management tools. They will process curriculum changes in the curriculum management tools and produce the general catalog. This position will collaborate with staff, faculty, academic departments and colleges across campus with a broad set of stakeholders, including team members in Undergraduate Studies, the Graduate School, University Information Technology, Office of General Education, Office of Learning Outcomes Assessment, and UOnline to provide encoding, analysis, configuration support, and maintenance for tools.
Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain curriculum and program requirements in the academic catalog, ensuring accuracy and alignment with institutional standards.
  • Provide comprehensive support to faculty throughout the curriculum review and approval process, ensuring proposed changes comply with university policies and state regulations. Offer guidance and resources to facilitate successful implementation.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and academic departments to optimize the use and functionality of curriculum management systems.
  • Operate across multiple platforms to ensure consistency and alignment between institutional policies, course prerequisites, the student information system, and the published catalog. Ensure curriculum requirements are written in ways that can be successfully programmed into the degree audit system.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects with partners including, but not limited to, Undergraduate Studies, the Graduate School, University Information Technology, the Office of General Education, the Office of Learning Outcomes Assessment, and UOnline to enhance curriculum technologies.
  • Gather and analyze user feedback on curriculum software performance. Recommend and implement system enhancements to better support academic operations.
  • Maintain and enhance the effectiveness of the curriculum office's online presence, ensuring accessibility and up-to-date content.
  • Design and deliver engaging training sessions for faculty and staff. Regularly update and distribute training materials to promote consistent and effective use of curriculum tools.
  • Initiate and lead efforts to identify and resolve issues related to curriculum systems, processes & policies. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement innovative process improvements.
  • Disseminate accurate and timely course and program information to the campus community. Ensure clear communication of curriculum policies and updates.
  • Continuously evaluate curriculum processes and tools to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Implement strategic improvements based on data-driven insights.
  • Provide responsive and knowledgeable support to stakeholders, addressing inquiries of varying complexity with a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires an associate's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
  • Experience in using/encoding relational database and queries.
  • Experience in using or maintaining student information systems (PeopleSoft, etc.).
  • Experience in curriculum and/or advising in a higher education setting.
  • General knowledge of university academic policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and make decisions.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Written communication skills.
  • Experience working independently to accomplish tasks.
