Job description

Safeguard Fire is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Protection Drafter to join our growing fire division. This position will prepare accurate fire alarm and/or fire sprinkler drawings for commercial projects while working closely with project managers, estimators, field technicians, and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare fire protection drawings, layouts, and permit submittal packages.
  • Create and revise plans using AutoCAD.
  • Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, and construction drawings.
  • Incorporate field measurements, redlines, and project changes into drawings.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, installers, and inspectors.
  • Verify device locations, system layouts, symbols, notes, and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate drawing files and complete revisions within required deadlines.
  • Assist with as-built drawings and closeout documentation.
  • Follow applicable NFPA standards, local codes, and project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • AutoCAD experience is required or strongly preferred.
  • Fire alarm or fire sprinkler drafting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
