Job description

CAD Technician – Electrical

Division: Electrical

Location: West Houston (Westchase area)


Summary:

Electrical CAD Technician experienced in producing and revising detailed electrical drawings for industrial facilities, including lift and pump stations. This role involves working closely with designers and engineers in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required, along with strong technical drafting skills.

General Responsibilities:

· Produce and maintain electrical drawings, including plans, elevations, schematics, wiring diagrams, and schedules.

· Apply drafting and design standards such as NFPA 70 (NEC) and API RP 500 to ensure quality and compliance.

· Coordinate with engineers and designers to update electrical design packages.

· Utilize advanced drafting features in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

· Manage multiple drafting tasks under tight deadlines while adhering to client and company standards.

Required Education/Certifications:

· Formal training in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation V8 or newer with certification.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of professional, full-time experience in electrical drafting using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical and/or MicroStation.


Required/Preferred Experience:

· Experience producing detailed electrical drawings in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

· Familiarity with grounding plans, conduit & cable schedules, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

· Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
