Job description

Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer with 8 or more years of experience in stormwater related planning and design for public entities. The primary focus of this position includes leading the technical aspects of projects including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and planning studies, performing 2D hydraulic analysis, and assisting with the development and coaching of junior staff.
Preferred candidates will have demonstrated project experience serving as a technical lead for drainage master plans, floodplain modeling and mapping, open channel design, and urban drainage systems for municipalities, counties, river authorities, TWDB, and TxDOT. The candidate must also have an advanced knowledge of using 2D hydraulic software including Innovyze ICM and HEC-RAS 2D.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 8 or more years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, design and plan production for urban drainage and flood control projects
  • Texas PE license or the ability to obtain a Texas PE license within 6 months of hire
  • 3 or more years of experience in managing or mentoring junior staff
  • Proficiency with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (steady- and unsteady-state)
  • Proficiency with Innovyze ICM and HEC-RAS 2D
  • Knowledge of local, county and state agency submittal process
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to convey engineering information concisely to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate also has knowledge of the following:
  • Working knowledge and experience with XPStorm, StormCAD, CivilStorm Drainage tools, and EPA-SWMM
  • Proficiency in both AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation Geopak
  • Experience with MicroStation Subsurface Utility Design and Analysis (SUDA)
  • Certified Floodplain Manager

We also offer additional perks including alternative work week schedules and possible work from home 1 to 2 days a week. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
