Job Summary: The Mechanical Designer is responsible for new and existing product support, 3D parametric model creation, 2D drawing creation, checking engineering documentation, and processing Engineering Change Requests and Releases. Must be able to multi-task several projects at the same time.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Engineering Manager and Manufacturing to clarify design questions,
  • ensure design review and shop feedback is evaluated, and process engineering
  • documentation changes captured during builds.
  • Provide manufacturing support for fabrication, assembly, and testing departments.
  • Participate in Technical/Sales meetings to provide design feedback and/or feasibility.
  • Provide time estimates for completing designs and drawings. Proactively inform the
  • Engineering Manager of project deadline concerns.
  • Update released drawings requiring changes and redlined engineering drawings using a
  • defined revision process.
  • Check engineering drawings, models, and other deliverables.
  • Use Inventor 3D CAD software to design new products and assemblies based on customer
  • requirements, concepts, or sketches.
  • Ensure accurate file organization and engineering processes are followed from start to
  • engineering documentation completion.
  • Create, maintain and support top-level and assembly BOM throughout the design,
  • documentation, and release to the manufacturing process.
Qualifications:
  • 2-year associate degree in Drafting / Design Engineering
  • Mechanical design experience with training certificates for Inventor.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer using Inventor.
  • Inventor is a must and requires someone with excellent work experience.
  • Vault is a must and requires someone with excellent work experience.
  • Familiarity with technical specifications.
  • Experience in the design and operation of Fracking, Oilfield Equipment, Power Distribution,
  • and/or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and creating drawings for fabricated and machined
  • components, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and component general arrangement
  • assemblies.
  • Knowledge mechanical drawing tolerances.
  • GD amp;T knowledge and practice are a plus.
  • Experience verifying drawings amp;amp; documents to performance requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and disciplined.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
The majority of the time this position will be spent in the office work area. But there will be times that you will have to go out into the shop and get dimensions of build or product. This includes working in an, manufacturing bay, and/or Test Facility.
