Job description

Provides medical nutrition therapy using evidence-based practice to optimize patient care. Provides consultation to the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective nutrition care to patients. Monitors and evaluates patient care and nutrition outcomes on an ongoing basis. Educates patients, healthcare members, dietetic interns, and members of the community. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities with the Nutrition Services Department. Maintains customer service, patient-centered approach at all times when fulfilling job duties. Meets the qualifications to provide care to patients in the assigned clinical areas.

Required Education:  Graduate of an accredited program in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related fields (Bachelor's or Master's Degree). Completed CDR-approved dietetic internship to qualify to take registered exam leading to Registered Dietitian, or entry level Dietitian may be Registration eligible. 


Preferred Education: Masters Degree or higher in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
Required Experience: Basic computer skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience: Previous clinical work experience

Salary Range: $62,462 - $93,693
 

  • Provides direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for assigned patient population.
  • Develops and conducts education programs for patients, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, peers, and the public. Preceptor for dietetic interns.
  • Completes nutrition assessments for all assigned patients which may include a Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment as indicated to determine appropriate nutrition diagnosis.
  • Provides appropriate intervention based on assessment and nutrition diagnosis.
  • Documents relevant, accurate, and timely information in the patient's electronic health record.
  • Develops and implements an individualized portfolio plan based on performance indicators that demonstrates professional growth and development, the basis for maintaining required competencies in practice and for maintaining status.
