Job description

The Project Engineer (PE) plays a key role in the successful execution of construction projects at Landmark Builders. This is an entry-level, hands-on position designed to build foundational experience and prepare you for advancement into roles such as Project Manager or Superintendent. Project Engineers gain exposure to all phases of construction, from preconstruction through closeout, while supporting both field operations and project management teams. Time on the job site is an essential component of this role to ensure well-rounded development.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Field Support
  • Assist the Superintendent with coordination of on-site labor and daily activities.
  • Participate in project meetings including subcontractor, Owner-Architect-Contractor, and pre-installation meetings.
  • Maintain accurate project documents and drawings both on-site and in project management systems.
  • Prepare daily field reports, weekly progress reports, manpower tracking, and production logs.
  • Assist with development of short-term look-ahead schedules.
  • Support site logistics and phasing plan development.

Procurement & Documentation
  • Manage submittal collection, tracking, review, and distribution.
  • Draft and track RFIs to clarify design and scope issues.
  • Create and maintain procurement logs and material delivery schedules.
  • Monitor material quantities and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings.
  • Complete O&M manuals and turnover documentation.

Quality, Safety & Closeout
  • Support site-specific safety program implementation in coordination with the Safety Manager.
  • Obtain OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Participate in QA/QC planning and compliance.
  • Assist with punch list creation, tracking, and execution.
  • Facilitate and document Owner training sessions.
  • Support project completion schedules and closeout processes.

Qualifications:
Experience & Technical Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Technologically proficient; experience with Procore or similar software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
