Position Summary:

The Solar Coordinator - Permitting is responsible for managing the permitting process for residential and/or

commercial solar projects. This role ensures timely submission, tracking, and approval of permit applications to

support smooth project execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively

communicate with internal teams, municipalities, and utility authorities.

Essential Duties:

Prepare and submit permit applications to local jurisdictions for solar, electrical, and structural approvals.

Monitor permit status and follow up proactively to ensure timely approvals.

Communicate with city/county offices to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and track changing codes or

documentation.

Coordinate with design, engineering, and sales teams to obtain and validate required documents (e.g.,

site plans, structural letters, utility applications).

Maintain accurate records and databases of permitting statuses and jurisdictional requirements.

Troubleshoot rejected or delayed permits and escalate issues when needed.

Track timelines and provide regular updates to project management and operations teams.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national codes and regulations.

Build and maintain relationships with permitting authorities and inspection offices.

Assist with special permitting projects (e.g., Title 24, AHJ research, policy changes).

Minimum Qualifications:

1+ year of experience in permitting, solar, construction, utilities, or a related administrative field.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to handle high volumes of documentation with accuracy.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or CRM tools.

Knowledge of solar installation processes and permitting requirements.

Experience with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) in multiple regions.

Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and solar design software.

Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting

or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office

products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to

adjust focus.
