Job DescriptionOverview

AtkinsRealis is seeking an Aviation Civil Engineer to join our Airport Engineering Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Nashville, TN.

Your Role
  • Assist with the design of airport pavements, runways, taxiways, and airside/landside infrastructure.
  • Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates for airport improvement projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design calculations.
  • Support preparation of technical reports, specifications, and basis of design reports.
  • Conduct site visits and construction inspections to monitor project progress.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, structural, electrical, mechanical, architectural, and environmental engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with FAA regulations, airport design standards, and local requirements and assist with FAA grant and airport improvement program documentation.
About You
  • EXPERIENCE: 0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college/university.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: AutoCAD Civil 3D, stormwater and drainage design, geometric design, construction documentation, communication and teamwork.
  • PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: E.I. or E.I.T. (preferred) or ability to sit and obtain within 6 months
