The SURVEY FIELD SUPPORT is an entry-level position to assist in surveying land by performing tasks as directed by Survey Party Chief or other senior survey staff. Holds level or stadia rod at designated points to assist in determining elevations and position of stakes for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys. Calls out readings or records readings, as directed.
Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or identifying mark. Measures distance between survey points with steel or cloth tape or surveyor's chain. Marks measuring points with keel, paint sticks, scratches, tacks, or stakes.
Places stakes at designated points and drives them into ground at specified elevation. Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combination of 3 months of education and relevant experience preferred. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Valid driver's license required - Must be insurable by fleet insurer; driving history will be reviewed by agent and underwriter. Must be able to pass a background check as required by military, industrial, port, and other client sites. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Regularly work on repetitive tasks. Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects.

Ability to work in an environment that may contain venomous snakes and insects such as ticks, red bugs, wasps, bees, hornets, yellow jackets, etc. Must be able to withstand regular exposure to outdoor worksite weather conditions that may be wet and/or humid environments, with extreme cold and/or heat; sites may be moderate to moderately loud Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
