Job description

What are we looking for
This role is a supportive one for the INNIO Order Engineering & Power Generation team, focusing on the design of reciprocating engines and packaged generator sets. The job involves collaborating with global engineering teams to provide product solutions for customers. Tasks include handling Engineering Change Requests to enhance assembly or test process flow, improving customer drawings, and fulfilling custom design requests for new sales. The position requires skills in design, CAD, Bill of Material (BOM) creation, task/project management, and familiarity with INNIO's quality system.
Co-op Term:September 2026 - December 2026
Essential Responsibilities
  • Create and modify parametric 3D models and drawings throughout all stages of the design and development process to communicate component design intent using CREO
  • Produce 2D drawings which include the application of dimension techniques while considering manufacturability and design intent.
  • Create and release complete technical data packages as required for production of new designs.
  • Complete all required business system transactions associated with Engineering Change releases as required Create and release customer documentation packages to provide instruction for Installation, Operation, and Maintenance.
  • Use expertise in design/reciprocating engines/gensets to help resolve manufacturing issues
  • Participate in project teams as the mechanical Order Engineering resource and complete all design tasks required to release the product to schedule Participate in technical design reviews
  • Provide technical support to other functional areas as required
Qualifications/Requirements
  • In the process of completing degree in a related discipline, such as Mechanical Engineering/Technologist.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing setting
Desired Characteristics
  • Demonstrated design skills to analyze technical requirements and applying appropriate skill set to design and detail system schematics within AutoCAD or other similar 2D CAD software
  • Experience designing circuit schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with Pro/Intralink or PDMLINK/Windchill or other CAD file management system would be considered an asset.
  • Oracle/SAP Business system experience would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Must embrace continuous improvement and have a strong desire to learn
  • Demonstrated professional characteristics necessary for working in and leading global teams such as task definition, team building, mentoring and training both local and remote colleagues, collaborative interpersonal skills, and effective communication.
