Registered Nurse - MA

Pay Range:$43.25 - $52.28/hour

Full Time:36 hours / week

WhatYou'llDo

As an RN at RCA, you will:

  • Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients to gather case history.
  • Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a therapeutic environment,utilizingverbal de-escalation and therapeutic communication.
  • Monitor patients utilizing CIWA/COWS assessments and measuring vital signs during their detoxification, providing medication as ordered and contacted medical providers when necessary.
  • Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designingappropriate treatmentplans for patients.
  • Prepare paperwork and medications for patients dischargingnextshift.
  • Administer and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
  • Arrange further medical attention when necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or the ability to get licensed)
  • Previousexperience working in behavioral health or addiction is preferred, but notrequired
  • Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments preferred, but notrequired
  • Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology preferred
  • Availability to work rotating weekends, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; thorough knowledge of facility proprietary systems.
