Position Overview

The Install Sales Engineer plays a key role in designing, engineering, and supporting custom AVL systems for clients across Central Florida and beyond. This position collaborates closely with account managers, installation teams, architects, contractors, and manufacturers to create high-quality, technically sound solutions that exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Engineering

  • Partner with account managers to design and quote AVL systems that meet client needs and project goals.

  • Create signal flow diagrams, equipment lists, and technical documentation.

  • Work with engineering staff to develop detailed drawings and specifications.

  • Ensure designs are implemented accurately during installation.

Installation Oversight & Integration

  • Commission systems in the field and verify performance meets design specs.

  • Travel to job sites for inspections, design verification, and troubleshooting.

  • Support installation teams to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and client leadership throughout project lifecycle.

  • Coordinate with manufacturers/vendors to specify equipment and manage budgets.

  • Assist with change orders, project modifications, and system updates.

Documentation & Technical Support

  • Perform as-built documentation updates in collaboration with Drafting.

  • Provide post-installation support and troubleshooting to ensure client satisfaction.

  • Maintain accurate timecards and company credit card documentation.

Professional Representation & Growth

  • Represent MABE with professionalism, excellent communication, and a positive attitude.

  • Attend ongoing training to stay current with evolving AVL technologies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 3 years of AVL experience, including system design and integration.

  • Proficient in D-Tools, Microsoft Office, Excel, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Revit, SketchUp, and related software.

  • Strong understanding of AVL system components and signal flow.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project-coordination skills.

  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

  • Must complete Infocomm Essentials of the AV Industry and CTS certification within the first six months.

  • Commitment to staying current with market trends and attending manufacturer trainings.
