Job description

Position Summary:
The Finishing Operator is responsible for visually inspects, deburrs, cleans, tumbles, blasts, and spinning small machined components. This effort includes, but is not limited to, the use of various tooling is required to remove loose or fixed burrs, cleaning of sharp edges, and polishing and blending machined surfaces of the medical device(s). This individual works with the entire department to ensure parts are finished properly to meet company standards.
The Finishing job family consists of two levels, based on experience and demonstrated skills in the following areas:
• Finishing B: entry level role, deburring of components, such as but not limited to screws and screw components, tulips, and Peek spacers. Vapor degreasing, Basket blasting, spinning, hand blasting, tumbling of components
Finishing A: All of level B plus added complexity in tasks, such as but not limited to the deburring of all product including expandable components and spacer components, and vibratory tumbling
Essential Functions:
  • Visual inspections of machined components using stereo-microscope
  • Measures and inspects medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specifications
  • Cleans, blasts, tumbles, and spinning sub-components following established procedures
  • Utilizes hand tools including but not limited to deburring knives, files, and pneumatic tools to remove burrs and assemble parts, use of automatic machine equipment to tumble, blast, and clean. The ability to hand blast
  • Visual inspections utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred
  • Escalates problems/issues to the Finishing Manager
  • Accurately completes all quality documentation and inspection sheets
  • Follows all verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and direction from supervisor in completing a variety of assembly and inspection tasks
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
