Compensation Range: $78,200-$105,800

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The primary function of this position is to provide overall technical information and support on projects that are assigned throughout the duration of the project. This includes project management of all RELCO scope.

AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Authority toresearch and obtain internal or externalassistancein designing systems. This includes communication directly with the customer, vendors, other engineers, etc.
  • Authoritytodesignsystems and specify components within theirexpertiseareas tomeetproject specifications.
  • Authority toapprove for purchase, any items for projects assigned.
  • Authority to alter or halt the progress of assigned projects with just cause and according to company policy.
  • Authority to approve process design changes that do not affect overall process operation in projects assigned.
  • Authority toacceptchange-ordersand secureadditionalworkin accordance withcompany policy.

Design

  • Design systems and specify components that perform safelyand tocontract specifications.
  • Documentengineering calculations for the systems designed and components specified.
  • Quality of designsfor projects.
  • Timeliness of completing designs for projects.

Manage projects

  • Manage projects assigned to meet schedule and budget constraints.
  • Maintain the engineering project files in a complete and organized manner according to company policy.
  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation of P&I Drawings and General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Complete the preparation of the P&I Equipment Lists (PIEL).
  • Assemble informational packets forsubmittingto theAutomationEngineer, MechanicalEngineerand Construction Manager.
  • Facilitate approval ofall standard and non-standard assembly drawings on projects.
  • Prepare requisitions and/or place orders for all “buy-out” equipment.
  • Prepare or approve requisitions for “non-stock” itemspurchasedfor projects.
  • Coordinate with construction to prepare for & arrange on-siteinstall.
  • Ensure necessary project informationrequiredto complete invoices, project updates, etc. is provided to theappropriate companypersonnel/departments ina timelyand efficient manner.
  • Quality of project management.
  • Timeliness of completing projects on schedule.
  • Level of effort to stay within budget forproject.

Customer relationship / communication

  • Maintain a positive and cooperative customer/RELCO relationship.
  • Successfully communicate all pertinent information and specifications concerning the systems designed and/or components specified to theappropriate departments.
  • Level of effort tomaintaincustomer relationships.
  • Quality of communication to customers & other departments.

Commissioning

  • During pre-commissioning and commissioning, coordinate construction and control activities, and handle customer communication at the jobsite.
  • Quality of coordination fora successfulcommissioning.
