Job description

About Helion
We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.
Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.
This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths - values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.
What You Will Be Doing:
As an Entry Level Construction Project Engineer at Helion, you will support the delivery of complex, fast-paced construction projects that enable the future of fusion energy. Working across diverse trades and project types, you will help turn ambitious designs into reality. You'll play a hands-on role in ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is an onsite role at our Everett, WA office, reporting to the Facilities Build Team Leader.
You Will:
  • Take ownership of supporting planning and delivery of construction activities across Helion's campus, using creative and resourceful problem solving to drive work forward with a strong bias for action in a fast-moving environment
  • Manage core project processes including stakeholder requests, change orders, material orders, and documentation- driving tasks through to completion with a high level of accountability and attention to detail
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, support estimating, and assist with subcontractor/trade partner pricing and scope management while adapting to evolving project needs and priorities
  • Coordinate across internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to solve problems quickly, navigate ambiguity, and keep projects moving despite incomplete information
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including meeting minutes, progress photos, logs, and closeout documentation, taking full ownership of project information and deliverables
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, while upholding Helion's safety culture and ensuring quality and design requirements are met in the field

Required Skills:
  • 2+ years of experience supporting construction processes across multiple trades and project types
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools like Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and adapt to changing project needs
  • Willingness and ability to perform physical tasks and work in a variety of environmental conditions
