Your Opportunity:

The IT Customer Support I position has a significant impact on efficient service delivery and is focused on assessing end user device hardware and software requests via our Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tool called ServiceNow. The IT Customer Support I role is also engaged in other work supporting the portfolio (e.g., operational process improvement, process development, documentation, strategic planning, projects, etc.). Coordination with internal and external stakeholders is needed to work with cross-functional teams (technical, support, business, vendors, etc.) to interpret customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to non-standard requests. This is an exciting role that is responsible for making quick decisions and facilitating the creation of standards that align to the provincial goals of the Technology Services program. There is flexibility as to the location of this position within the province of Alberta. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate may discuss location options with the hiring manager. As an IT Customer Support I, you will provide the first level of technical support for clinical and non-clinical staff and departments. Your typical duties include receiving and handling initial helpdesk requests for IT support; responding to common requests for support as well as participating in the set up and maintenance of computer software, hardware and systems.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of certificate in Computer Support or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent demands required. Must have 2 to 3 years of related IT customer service experience within the last 5 years and be proficient using MS Office Suite and Outlook. Must have strong cognitive, analytical and problem-solving skills and strong customer service commitment. Must have demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Must have experience with creating standard documentation. Must have ability to set and meet personal deadlines and adapt to changes in priority. Must have ability to work in a team environment and experience in coordinating teams. Must be self-motivated, with limited supervision. Must have experience in ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications:

MS Visio proficiency is an asset. Experience in a healthcare environment is an asset.
