Location: Houston, TX
Position Type: Full Time
About this opportunity:
Serves as a technical resource to Information Technology management by working to ensure that business processes and systems (computers, printers, copiers, telephones, cameras, Cisco VoIP, and video conferencing etc) within the entire Unit service area (all properties, programs, systems and processes) are supported by the appropriate information technology systems and that these systems and processes are fully integrated and aligned in support of daily operations and department needs.
Key responsibilities:
  • Technical/Help Desk Support/System Security (50%)
  • Business Processes & IT Systems Evaluation (25%)
  • Data Migration & Mapping (15%)
  • Other Responsibilities (10%)

What we are looking for in you:
  • Associates Degree in Information Technology or related field or two years of technical college from an accredited college or university required and Three (3) years of varied work responsibilities in an Information Technology department or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • One or more relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNA or equivalent certification are required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, driving, lifting and carrying heavy computer equipment (25-50 lbs) 10-15 % of work time. Physical ability to "team lift" heavy materials, supplies and equipment (50-100 lbs) occasionally. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing, walking or driving a vehicle for site visits. Most work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
