Job description

NETSUITE DEVELOPER
The NetSuite Developer will work with Accounting, Admin, HR, Engineering, Project Management, and the Panel Shop to design, build, and maintain custom solutions that maximize the use and efficiency of NetSuite across all departments. The individual is responsible for the development, customization, scripting, and integration aspects of Vertech’s NetSuite ERP operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom SuiteScript (2.x/2.1) solutions, including User Event scripts, Client scripts, Scheduled scripts, Map/Reduce scripts, Suitelets, RESTlets, and Mass Update scripts, to meet evolving business and operational needs.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between NetSuite and other business systems and applications using SuiteTalk (REST and SOAP web services), RESTlets, and third-party middleware.
  • Develop and customize records, fields, forms, and workflows using SuiteBuilder and SuiteFlow.
  • Create and optimize saved searches, datasets, and workbooks using SuiteAnalytics; build custom reports, dashboards, and KPIs/metrics to support stakeholders.
  • Manage source control, packaging, and deployment of customizations using the SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) and version control tools such as Git.
  • Debug and resolve script errors, performance issues, and governance/usage limit constraints across the entire NetSuite application and ecosystem.
  • Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices to ensure quality, scalability, maintainability, and compliance with NetSuite governance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate complex business needs into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Develop, document, and maintain technical documentation, including customization specifications, integration designs, and development standards.
  • Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, change requests, and project work for the entire NetSuite application and ecosystem.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related technical degree.
  • Minimum three years of hands-on NetSuite development experience, including SuiteScript 2.x/2.1.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience working with the SuiteScript API.
  • Experience designing and building integrations using SuiteTalk (REST/SOAP), RESTlets, or third-party middleware.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/or SuiteQL, and experience building SuiteAnalytics saved searches, datasets, and workbooks.
  • Experience with at least one full NetSuite implementation is preferred.
  • Experience with the SuiteCloud Development Framework (SDF) and version control (Git) is a plus.
  • NetSuite certification (e.g., SuiteFoundation, SuiteCloud Developer II, or Administrator) is a plus.
  • Experience in distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, XML, and JSON is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
