ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and supervision of construction/rehabilitation of bus depots including systems such as HVAC, Building Management Systems, Bulk Fluid Systems, Diesel &CNG Fueling Systems, Bus Washers, Vehicle Lifts, Oil Water Separators, Plumbing, Boilers, Air Compressors, Roll-up Doors, and various mechanical equipment systems. Design and installation of major industrial building systems such as heat recovery units, air conditioning, air handling units, boilers, heating and hot water systems utilizing natural gas, fuel oil or both. Inspect equipment and materials for acceptance and troubleshoot all HVAC related equipment. Prepare construction documents including drawings and technical specifications; Document all work and communicate with vendors and contractors. Knowledge of all applicable NFPA, local codes and state regulations. Knowledge in CAD Programs such as Bentley Micro Station and Microsoft Office. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will provide support to and assist Mechanical Engineers with all functions related to bus structure and air systems, including undercarriage, bulkhead, axle, engine, transmission, interlock, compressor, cooling, HVAC, wheelchair, etc. Engage in research, investigation, studies or examinations related to bus functions, parts and components to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Create and maintain technical drawings using CAD software. Write specifications and prepare estimate of quantities. Participate in other related mechanical engineering work as required.
