Job description

Job Title: Junior CAD Drafter (Life Safety & Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated, career-oriented Junior CAD Drafter to join our technical design team. This is not a "short-term seat" but a professional entry point into the critical Life Safety and Special Systems industry. You will work under the guidance of senior designers to produce construction-ready documentation for fire alarm, security, and access control systems. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, and hungry to grow into a seasoned design professional within the construction and electrical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Drafting: Prepare detailed construction drawings, including floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, and electrical interconnection details using AutoCAD.
• Project Support: Develop essential submittal documentation, such as technical data sheets and battery calculations, to support field installation teams.
• Records Management: Maintain organized project drawing files, documentation logs, and as-built records to ensure project accuracy from start to finish.
• Collaboration: Receive assignments from the Design Team and translate engineering concepts into clean, accurate technical drawings.
• Continuous Learning: Actively participate in professional development to gain a deep understanding of low-voltage systems and life safety codes.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Technical Skills: * Proficiency in AutoCAD (Version 2014 or higher is required).
• Strong command of Windows-based software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Background: * A professional background is preferred over strictly academic experience; we value "real-world" business or office experience.
• Previous exposure to the Construction field-specifically electrical or mechanical-is highly desirable.
• Attributes:
• Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of accountability.
• A serious mindset regarding the Life Safety industry (Fire/Security).
• Preferred: NICET Certification (Level I or II) or a strong desire to obtain it is a major plus. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans
