Pavement Resources is a trusted provider of asphalt paving, pavement maintenance, sealcoating, crack sealing, striping, and concrete services throughout the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area.

We partner with commercial property owners, property managers, municipalities, industrial facilities, and contractors to help protect and improve their pavement assets.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated individual who wants to build a long-term career in sales and construction services. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the owner, gaining hands-on experience in business development, estimating, project management, and customer relationships—with a clear path to becoming a full Outside Sales Representative.

Position Overview

  • This is an entry-level sales position designed for someone who is ambitious, coachable, and eager to learn.
  • You'll work directly alongside the owner and gain exposure to every aspect of the sales process—from prospecting and relationship-building to site visits, estimating, proposal development, and closing projects.
  • The goal is simple: develop the skills, industry knowledge, and customer relationships needed to grow into a commissioned Outside Sales Representative role within 12–18 months.
  • No paving, asphalt, or construction sales experience is required. We will teach you the industry.

What You'll Do

Business Development

  • Identify and prospect new commercial customers throughout the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area
  • Conduct phone outreach, email campaigns, and in-person visits
  • Build relationships with property managers, facility managers, business owners, municipalities, and contractors
  • Generate qualified leads and schedule appointments

Learn the Sales Process

  • Ride along with the owner on customer meetings and site visits
  • Learn how to evaluate pavement conditions and identify customer needs
  • Assist with estimates, proposals, and project planning
  • Learn how projects are sold, scheduled, and executed

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and activity tracking
  • Follow up with prospects and current customers
  • Support account development and customer retention efforts
  • Help ensure a positive customer experience from first contact through project completion

Professional Development

  • Gain hands-on experience in the pavement maintenance and construction industry
  • Learn estimating fundamentals and project costing
  • Develop negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Participate in networking and business development events

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Self-motivated and dependable
  • Comfortable speaking with customers in person and over the phone
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and CRM systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, business development, or account management
  • Interest in construction, commercial services, or outside sales
  • Experience working in a goal-oriented environment

What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you'll:

  • Develop a strong understanding of pavement maintenance and paving services
  • Learn how to estimate and scope commercial projects
  • Build relationships with local businesses and decision-makers
  • Generate new sales opportunities and contribute to company growth
  • Position yourself for advancement into a commissioned Outside Sales Representative role
