A DAY IN THE LIFE:

This entry level position does routine maintenance and repairs of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and furniture. Performs work, such as light carpentry or painting, small repair of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures. Can perform minor inspections of the premises to determine repair work is necessary. Assists with planned maintenance on all equipment. Maintains necessary education relating to existing equipment, tools, and processes. Works with a well-rounded team that provides strong growth support.

Facilities Tech I's are also responsible for:

Vendor

  • Assists with sourcing and ordering equipment and supplies.
  • Coordinates with other departments when planning projects.
  • Assists vendors while on company property and maintains good working relations.

Equipment

  • Maintains all appliances including dishwashers, microwaves, coffee machines, freezers and refrigerators.
  • Adjusts temperature thermostats, as needed.
  • Installs ergonomic equipment for employees as requested.
  • Assists with equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
  • Assists with managing all equipment documentation and ensures compliance.

Space

  • Participates in the 24-hour security call rotation.
  • Assists with facility modification projects.
  • Performs "handyman" maintenance duties such as simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup.
  • Recycling of all company recyclables including paper, toner and batteries.
  • Works cross functionally and provide direction/ownership in resolution of facility related problems.
  • Maintains regular communication through phone, email, text, and ticket system so daily requests are attended to.

General

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

Onsite: This position is fully onsite and open to candidates located in San Diego, California. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur onsite.

Schedule: This position will work Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Some knowledge of Plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
  • Some knowledge in hand and power tools.
  • Able to effectively share information and ideas within and outside of department in written or verbal form; able to put forth own ideas and gain understanding from others.
  • Proficient at supporting effective interactions between team members and among cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft programs and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work with mobile devices and apps.

Minimum experience:

    • 6 plus months of related facility experience, preferred.
    • Knowledge of Planned Maintenance protocols, preferred.

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

    The starting base hourly pay range for this position is $20.15 - $23.00. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.

You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
