Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an Entry Level Electrical Engineer for our NYC office. Duties will include building information modeling (BIM) and AutoCad drafting, design, drawing production, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems for Dewberry projects. Position is for a person considering an upward professional engineering career path aspiring to project engineer within a few years and receiving a PE within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

Focus will be on assisting senior electrical engineers in buildings design including lighting and power for HVAC systems and fire alarm systems, for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. In addition, the Dewberry MEP engineering group supports the design of infrastructure including bridges, highways and tunnels. Will train on other electrical engineering software’s such as Visual, Lumen Micro, SKM Dapper, etc. as required by Dewberry’s clients. Ability to learn and apply these software’s is required.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BSEE Degree from an ABET Accredited College or University.
  • 0-2 years experience.
  • Experience with AutoCad MEP a must and experience with Revit MEP software is a plus.
  • EIT certification is plus.
  • Internship, part time, or full-time experience in the MEP engineering industry is a plus.
  • The position requires a strong academic technical backgroundwith good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to commute into NYC and possess an active driver’s license.
