Job description

Entry-Level CNC Field Service Engineer โ€“ Wisconsin

Latest Technology | Hands-On Training | Excellent Culture | Career Growth

Do you like figuring out how things workโ€”and fixing them when they donโ€™t?

Are you the person who enjoys working on cars, motorcycles, machinery, or other mechanical equipment? Maybe youโ€™ve gone to school for automotive, diesel, industrial maintenance, machining, or a similar field. Or perhaps youโ€™ve worked as a CNC operator and found yourself more interested in troubleshooting and maintaining the machine than simply operating it.

If that sounds like you, weโ€™d like to talk.

You do not need to be an experienced CNC service technician to apply.

Weโ€™re looking for someone with mechanical aptitude, curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn. Weโ€™ll help you develop the CNC knowledge and field-service skills.

Build a Career, Not Just Get a Job

As an Entry-Level CNC Field Service Engineer, youโ€™ll work alongside experienced senior service engineers throughout Wisconsin, learning how to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install some of the most sophisticated CNC machine tools in manufacturing.

Youโ€™ll gain hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • CNC machine operation and technology
  • Electrical and electronic systems
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Machine installation and setup
  • Diagnosing problems and finding solutions
  • Working directly with customers

As your knowledge and experience grow, so will your ability to handle service calls independently.

This is an opportunity to develop a highly specialized technical skill set while building a long-term career in an industry that keeps American manufacturing moving.

We Set You Up for Success

We want our service engineers focused on learning, solving problems, and taking care of customersโ€”not worrying about the tools they need to do their jobs.

We provide:

  • Hands-on training alongside experienced senior engineers
  • Car allowance
  • Company-provided cell phone
  • Company-provided laptop
  • Fuel expenses covered
  • Fast, hassle-free expense reimbursement
  • Ongoing technical training and development
  • Opportunities to grow as your technical skills develop

Youโ€™ll be exposed to different customers, machines, industries, and technical challenges. If sitting behind a desk doing the same thing every day doesnโ€™t appeal to you, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Learn to Do

Working directly with our experienced service engineers, youโ€™ll learn to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Assist with new machine installations
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical problems
  • Work directly with customers to resolve equipment issues
  • Provide basic customer training and technical support
  • Maintain accurate customer and technical documentation
  • Take ownership of service cases and projects
  • Represent Ellison Technologies professionally and ethically
Who Are We Looking For?

Weโ€™re less concerned about whether you already have CNC field-service experience and more interested in whether you have the aptitude and desire to learn it.

You may be a great fit if you have experience or education in:

  • Automotive or diesel repair
  • Industrial maintenance
  • Mechatronics
  • Manufacturing or machining
  • CNC machine operation
  • Electrical or mechanical technology
  • Military mechanical or technical roles
  • Equipment repair
  • Or simply significant hands-on mechanical experience working on your own

Maybe youโ€™re the person who has always worked on your own cars. Maybe you enjoy taking things apart to understand how they work. Maybe you're already operating CNC equipment and want to learn how to troubleshoot and repair it.

Those are the kinds of people we want to meet.

What You'll Need
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • A genuine desire to learn CNC technology
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Willingness to learn from experienced service engineers
  • Ability to travel throughout Wisconsin for training and customer support

During your development, some weekday overnight travel will be necessary so you can work alongside senior service engineers in different parts of the state. This is generally not extended travel for weeks at a time, and weekend travel is not the expectation.

Benefits
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Paid holidays
  • Sick time
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Life insurance
