Job Title: Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Paralegal

Location: Raleigh, NC (On-site)

Are you an organized legal professional looking to anchor a high-velocity, regional creditors' rights practice? A premier North Carolina business law firm is executing a confidential search for a skilled Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Paralegal to join their Raleigh office. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to manage sophisticated commercial and consumer debt enforcement portfolios within a highly collaborative, fast-paced firm environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep familiarity with the full foreclosure lifecycle, state court execution mechanics, and regional bankruptcy court protocols.


Core Responsibilities

  • Bankruptcy Case Management: Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial and consumer bankruptcy proceedings (Chapter 7, 11, and 13), coordinating caseflow management from initial filing through resolution.
  • Document Architecture: Draft, proofread, and format complex legal pleadings, motions for relief from stay, proofs of claim, collection notices, and foreclosure documents.
  • Electronic Court Filing: Manage, monitor, and execute electronic filings across North Carolina state civil courts and federal bankruptcy court systems (CM/ECF).
  • Docket & Deadline Control: Systematically track statutory deadlines, maintain active case calendars, and administer electronic scheduling systems to ensure strict compliance with court rules.
  • External Coordination: Serve as a primary firm liaison conferring directly with Court Clerks, Administrators, Sheriff's Departments, and opposing parties to advance execution and foreclosure processes.
  • Information Governance: Maintain immaculate digital and physical filing structures, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and proactive follow-up on all outstanding required actions.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–3 years of dedicated paralegal experience handling commercial and consumer bankruptcy, collections, and foreclosure workflows.
  • Procedural Literacy: Working knowledge of North Carolina state and federal court rules, statutory collection timelines, and judicial foreclosure mechanics.
  • Credentials: Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Technology preferred (equivalent professional work experience will be fully substituted); valid North Carolina Notary Public commission (or the immediate ability to obtain one) is required.
