Job description

Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a motivated and adaptable Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic Underwater Systems team in Hudson, New Hampshire. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of cutting-edge defense technologies for our nation's security.
This position requires full-time, on-site presence at a BAE Systems facility due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the essential nature of on-site work for this role. As a Mechanical Technician, you will:
* Perform a variety of production assembly operations on mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, from repetitive tasks to more complex builds.
* Assist engineers in the development, testing, fabrication, modification, and assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
* Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical parts and systems based on engineering drawings and specifications.
* Utilize hand and power tools, jigs, and fixtures. Training will be provided for operation of overhead hoists and forklifts.
* Adhere to all safety protocols, including respirator certification and the safe handling of chemicals using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. Required Education, Experience, & Skills * High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to obtain a Secret DoW clearance
* Ability to lift 20-40lbs. consistently.
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and follow written process instructions.
* Familiarity with common hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measures, and calipers.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn and adapt in a Engineering / production environment. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Solder experience.
* Good computer skills.
* Experience in mechanical assembly. Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $40003 - $64006 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
