Job description

Carpenter Apprentice

Pay: $20–$22/hour

Job Summary

Join a respected construction company in Montrose, MN as an Exterior Carpenter Apprentice. You’ll work on new residential construction sites, supporting experienced Journeyman carpenters with exterior installations including windows, doors, and weatherproofing. This is a hands-on role with steady, year‑round work and clear opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman carpenters with daily exterior carpentry tasks
  • Set and install windows and exterior doors
  • Apply house wrap to protect exterior wall framing
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Read blueprints and accurately measure materials
  • Perform general labor and installation duties
  • Work at heights using provided fall protection and safety equipment
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and jobsite setup

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ months of construction or general labor experience
  • Experience working on ladders with basic ladder safety knowledge
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working on ladders up to 36 feet
  • Proficient with basic hand tools (hammer, square, tape measure, utility knife)
  • Own and use a tool belt

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Trade school experience (1 year preferred)
  • 3+ years of construction experience
  • High school diploma (trade school coursework a plus)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.20/hr.
