Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Analyst to support business operations through data analysis, Excel-based reporting, process improvement, and documentation. This role will analyze operational data, maintain and support Excel tools, identify opportunities for process efficiency, and create clear documentation to help teams execute processes consistently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational data using Excel to identify trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Excel-based tools, reports, dashboards, trackers, and templates.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Excel tools and troubleshoot data, formula, and reporting issues.
  • Use advanced Excel functions, formulas, PivotTables, lookups, charts, and other analytical capabilities to support business needs.
  • Prepare recurring and ad-hoc operational reports and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Document business processes, workflows, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand operational requirements and develop practical analytical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for operational tools and processes.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and other operational projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Operations, Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large or complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Excel-based tools, reports, and trackers.
  • Strong process documentation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies or process gaps.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced Excel functions such as XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, PivotTables, and conditional logic.
  • Experience with Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, or data visualization tools.
  • Experience documenting SOPs, workflows, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting operational reporting or business intelligence initiatives.
  • Experience in construction/skilled trade operations.
