Overview
Business Development Sales Representative
Our Portland branch, located in Tualatin, OR, is seeking an Entry-Level Business Development Representative to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in sales and business development.
The primary focus of this role is canvassing and prospecting for new business. You will spend the majority of your time in the field identifying potential customers, visiting job sites and businesses, and introducing our services through in-person, off-site sales activities. This role involves consistent cold outreach and face-to-face engagement to generate new leads and sales opportunities.
This opportunity provides:
$700 weekly base salary plus weekly performance based bonus for an average salary range between $50,300-$67,000.

Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
  • Conduct in-person visits with existing and prospective commercial customers providing trustworthy service.
  • Establish, strengthen, and maintain customer relationships through regular field visits, on-site consultations, and follow-up meetings.
  • Support commercial sales growth through proactive outreach, lead follow-up, and territory development.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts through field prospecting, relationship building, and solution-based selling.
  • Sell Roto-Rooter's commercial services, including plumbing, drain cleaning, industrial services, excavation, water cleanup, and water quality solutions.
  • Promote and sell preventative maintenance programs and priority care service plans to both new and existing customers.
  • Utilize the Salesforce CRM platform to document customer visits, track relationship value, record sales activities, and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Prepare and deliver on-site presentations, service recommendations, and customized proposals.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate leads and represent the company.
  • Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure successful delivery of sold services.

Requirements
Regular travel to customer and prospect locations, trade events, and other sites away from the company's office is required. This is a hands-on, field-based position that offers an opportunity to build foundational sales skills, gain real-world experience, and grow within a sales organization.
  • Commercial sales experience with proven year-over-year record for successful development and growth of a territory preferred.
  • Acceptable background check per company standards
  • Extensive driving and travel to customer locations within the assigned territory in a timely and professional manner.
  • Administrative tasks that support field sales activities.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate in English in both written and oral communication.
  • May have direct interaction with vulnerable populations such as children or elderly.
  • Be a trusted informational resource for Roto-Rooter customers
