Job description

Rushton is seeking candidates for their spring CAS Internship Program. Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree with a major or concentration in accounting. Prefer candidates enrolled in senior year of college or graduate school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Candidates will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience, providing insight into the daily tasks and responsibilities of an entry-level staff accountant. For those with prior experience, there are opportunities to take on more advanced tasks and projects that build upon their existing knowledge and skills.
Under close supervision, interns will perform a variety of entry-level tasks, with opportunities to work on special projects based on their level of experience. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:
  • Financial Write-up for tax returns
  • General Bookkeeping
  • QuickBooks Online Training
  • Tax return preparation
  • Perform bookkeeping functions
  • Perform data entry functions
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Work with accounting and tax specific software
  • Track and analyze information
  • Perform client file imaging tasks

All internship positions are paid positions. The Spring CAS Internship program is January through Mid-April. Students are required to work 20-30 hours a week.
Requirements for the position:
• Enrolled in college pursuing degree with a major or concentration in accounting
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Ability to work as a team, meet project timelines, proficiently utilize accounting technology, and strong computer skills
• Availability to work 20-30 hours a week
• Successful completion of a background check
• Valid credentials to work in the U.S.
• All students must provide their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship
