Environmental Specialties designs and manufactures a diverse product line of controlled walk-in and reach-in environmental chambers suited for an array of applications across multiple industries. Environmental Specialties is seeking an Accountant (Entry level) /Reception Support Specialist that will be responsible for prioritizing our modest inbound phone traffic as well as managing the reception area.  In addition, this position offers a great opportunity to utilize your Accounting education as you will spend most of your time performing an array of accounting and financial support of our business operations for our Accounting Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

Primary support of reception area for Environmental Specialties

  • Greet and assist visitors, clients, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and conference rooms
  • Provide general administrative support to office staff as needed

 

Accounting Support Duties

  • Assist with data entry of invoices, receipts, and expenses into accounting systems
  • Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
  • Prepare and process basic billing and invoicing
  • Reconcile simple account discrepancies under supervision
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Make collection calls to customers
  • Assist with expense reports and credit card reconciliations

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in accounting or business preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or receptionist role; experience with accounting tasks a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive information
