Job description

Business Analyst - Translational Medicine

The Business Analyst Translational Medicine, will work collaboratively with scientists in the Translational Medicine Research & Preclinical Development section, to document scientific and data processes, including histology and imaging workflows, and contribute to the development of data and technology solutions that support Regeneron's scientific mission.

Where: Based at our Tarrytown, NY location

Where: 4 days onsite per week required

  • Support the translation of business goals and objectives into documented requirements; assist in developing problem statements with guidance from senior team members

  • Document "as is" and "to be" business processes; apply standard methodologies and tools to gather and document functional and non-functional requirements

  • Contribute to mapping information system connections and data flows between systems; assist in identifying data elements and supporting data mapping and data dictionary documentation

  • Apply working knowledge of SQL, Python, AI, and other tools to investigate data; develop familiarity with data lake principles and common database types used in a research environment

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing the backlog of requests; support clear communication of requirements to the development team and help coordinate stakeholder updates

  • Engage with scientists and laboratory personnel to learn and document business processes; support research scientists and technical teams in gathering system and requirements information

  • Help identify data quality issues and support efforts to investigate contributing factors; assist business and IT partners in documenting and communicating findings

  • Handle a variety of tasks across projects, apply sound judgment within defined procedures, and adjust priorities as needed in a dynamic research environment

This role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, computer science, information technology, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a research or biotechnology environment.

  • Previous experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry is required. We need someone who has working familiarity with a variety of tools (e.g., Laboratory Information Management Systems, SQL databases, Python programming, agentic tools, data documentation frameworks) and can apply general knowledge of industry practices to support business analysis, requirements gathering, and data flow documentation in a research-focused environment.

  • Previous exposure to laboratory techniques, bioinformatics concepts, relational database principles, or IT software development lifecycle processes is preferred.
