Job description

Summary: Must be capable of installing systems installed and serviced by SecureVision with minimum supervision in a timely manner and within budget. Systems include UTP Category 5e, RG-6 Coax, A/V and fiber optic cabling. Installed systems will include terminations and related equipment. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and craftsmanship and ensure SecureVision’s quality commitment. Must be able to perform daily on-the-job training, supervising and mentoring of Intern/Apprentices while working towards advancement to Installer II status. 

Minimum Skills and Abilities Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. On-the-job training and specialized training as required.

  • Comply with all company and safety policies.

  • Read, understand and implement work assigned, including scope of work, job specifications and installation manuals and/or blueprints.

  • Easily follow plans and drawings.

  • Capable of establishing pathways.

  • Strong understanding of cabling systems.

  • Ensure ongoing quality.

  • Must be able to interface with customers as required.

  • Install, terminate, test and connect all cables, wire, fiber and equipment installed and/or serviced by SecureVision.

  • Must be able to fabricate special hardware for installation use.

  • Operate company test equipment, perform test and measurement tasks within standards and rectify problems found.

  • Operate all installation tools and equipment.

  • Verify continuity or signal strength and functionality of outlets, taps, patch panels, wire, fiber and cable.

  • Ensure security of all tools, equipment and materials.

  • Daily on-the-job training, developing, supervising and mentoring of Intern/Apprentices.

  • Responsible for carrying all hand tools necessary for daily duties at all times. Operate and maintain all tools, construction equipment, equipment and vehicles as assigned.

  • Ensure all panels, cables, faceplates, etc., are properly labeled.

  • Must be able to work on ladders.

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 70lbs. 

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area. 

Installer II Responsibilities:

  • Must perform work in a safe manner consistent with policy and good judgment.

  • Must display professional craftsmanship to the highest quality standard.

  • Leadership skills.

  • Keep company information confidential.

  • Must be fair, and consistent, and act in a professional manner at all times.
