Overview:
The Project Assistant (Field) supports the Project Managers and Construction Managers with on-site coordination, documentation, and daily construction activities. This role is focused on field operations and serves as a key link between the job site and the project management team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to gain hands-on construction experience while supporting successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Field Coordination & Support
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with daily on-site construction activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure materials and equipment are delivered to the job site on schedule.
  • Support field teams by verifying work areas are ready for upcoming trades and scheduled tasks.
  • Review drawings and specifications to help confirm field work aligns with project requirements.

2. On-Site Construction Oversight
  • Monitor daily construction progress and report updates to the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
  • Conduct routine site walks to observe work in progress and help ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Assist in tracking manpower, equipment usage, and material quantities.
  • Help enforce site safety protocols and report any safety concerns immediately.

3. Field Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, including labor counts, weather conditions, deliveries, and work completed.
  • Document field conditions with photos and written summaries.
  • Assist with tracking change orders, RFIs, submittals, and field directives.
  • Support cost tracking by documenting field-related expenses and quantities.

4. Communication & Coordination
  • Serve as a field liaison between subcontractors and the project management team.
  • Communicate site issues, delays, or conflicts to supervisors promptly.
  • Assist in facilitating on-site meetings and distributing meeting notes.
  • Support coordination between trades to minimize schedule conflicts and disruptions.

5. Issue Identification & Problem Support
  • Identify potential field conflicts, schedule impacts, or constructability concerns.
  • Assist in resolving minor field issues under direction of senior staff.
  • Follow up on corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Support proactive planning to help prevent rework and delays.

Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in construction or related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as needed.
