Job description

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER
Job Summary: The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager with planning and coordinating precast concrete projects. This role assists with CAD and foam drawings, helps track project schedules, and communicates with production and engineering teams to ensure projects stay on track. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone learning project coordination in a precast production environment. The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare CAD drawings and foam layouts for production.
  • Enter panel information into Orca
  • Print pour packets
  • Perform various takeoffs
  • Photograph and document erected panels
  • Crate/count Foundation and Erection BOMs
  • Verify tickets for bill of material information
  • Deliver samples/mockups and pick up/drop off materials as needed
  • Support the Project Management team in coordinating project schedules and materials.
  • Help communicate project requirements with production and/ or project management.
  • Maintain project documentation, including drawings, schedules, and change orders.
  • Review drawings and instructions for accuracy under supervision.
  • Assist with basic project tracking, reporting, and follow-up tasks.
  • Perform other project-related tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic CAD proficiency and ability to create simple technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, specifications, and instructions.
  • Willingness to assist with production and coordination tasks as needed.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to follow direction.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in construction, engineering, or CAD preferred.
  • Some experience in CAD (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) preferred.
  • Exposure to construction or precast concrete processes is a plus but not required.
  • Entry-level experience in project coordination is acceptable.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to occasionally visit the production plant or job site, including walking, bending, and climbing as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (drawings, samples, or foam pieces).
  • Ability to work in both office and industrial environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
