About the Role

We are looking for a curious, disciplined, and highly motivated Entry-Level AI Engineer to join our team. This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their engineering career who is excited to learn, solve difficult problems, and build practical AI systems.

You do not need prior professional experience in artificial intelligence. We care more about your ability to think rigorously, learn unfamiliar concepts, write clear and maintainable code, and follow through on challenging work. You will receive guidance and collaborate with experienced engineers while developing your skills across machine learning, software engineering, data, and AI products.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, test, and improve AI and machine learning features.
  • Write clean, reliable, and well-documented Python code.
  • Work with data to prepare, analyze, and validate datasets.
  • Implement and evaluate machine learning models and AI workflows.
  • Experiment with large language models, APIs, embeddings, or other AI technologies.
  • Design tests and use evidence to evaluate whether a system is working well.
  • Debug technical problems systematically.
  • Read technical documentation, research papers, and unfamiliar codebases.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other team members.
  • Document your work, assumptions, results, and next steps.
  • Continuously learn new tools, methods, and concepts as the field evolves.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Rigor and attention to detail.
  • Discipline and the ability to consistently complete work.
  • A genuine willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies.
  • Ability to break complex problems into smaller, testable steps.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Comfort receiving feedback and improving your work.
  • Ability to work independently while asking thoughtful questions when needed.
  • A solid foundation in programming, especially Python, through coursework, projects, internships, research, or self-directed learning.

Helpful, but Not Required

  • Familiarity with machine learning or deep learning concepts.
  • Experience with Python libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Exposure to SQL, APIs, Git, Linux, cloud platforms, or software testing.
  • Experience building personal, academic, open-source, or hackathon projects.
  • Familiarity with probability, statistics, linear algebra, or calculus.
  • A GitHub portfolio, technical project, research project, or other demonstration of your work.

Education

  • A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is welcome but not required.
  • Equivalent skills gained through projects, bootcamps, independent study, military service, or other experiences are also valued.

What Success Looks Like

During your first several months, you will be expected to:

  • Learn the team’s development practices and technical stack.
  • Deliver small, well-tested engineering tasks.
  • Explain your reasoning and document your work clearly.
  • Make steady progress on unfamiliar problems.
  • Respond constructively to feedback.
  • Develop a reliable understanding of how our AI systems are built, tested, and maintained.

We offer:

  • A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • A multinational organization with 58 offices in 21 countries and the possibility to work abroad.
  • 10 days of paid annual leave (plus sick leave and national holidays).
  • Maternity & paternity leave plans.
  • A comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-/short-term disability (plans vary by region).
  • Retirement savings plans.
  • A higher education certification policy.
  • Commuter benefits (varies by region).
  • Extensive training opportunities, focused on skills, substantive knowledge, and personal development.
  • On-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses.
  • Coaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups.
  • Cutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms.
  • A flat and approachable organization.
  • A truly diverse, fun-loving, and global work culture.
