Job Description Role: IP Compliance Coordinator/Engineer Contract Duration: 12 months Location of Services Burnaby, BC - in office 2 days per week Summary: The role is as an interface between the Compliance subject matter experts and various projects that must understand and execute mandatory compliance requirements. Max Rates: Up to $45.80/INC or $38.81/T4 Experience and Role Accountabilities Entry level to one (1) year of in a relevant engineering field or equivalent. Contribute to the development of safe engineering solutions by performing activities such as calculations and creating bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, and other specifications as well as making suggestions to modify conception or production techniques or materials for projects and/or operations

Assist with specific aspects of more complex engineering activities by preparing simple plans and designs, doing calculation checks for others, and carrying out routine technical surveys working under close supervision of a senior professional engineer who reviews work for accuracy, adequacy, and conformance with prescribed procedures. Participate in BC Hydro's engineering practice by making a few routine technical decisions following clearly defined procedures and documented precedents as guidance so that BC Hydro's engineering standards are maintained. EGBC Registrants provided to BC Hydro through this contract shall work under BC Hydro's Professional Practice Management Plan, Quality Management Pillar.

The Registrant shall apply their own or their firm's Permit to Practice Number to work that is Sealed by the Registrant. Retention and preservation of all project documentation produced by the Registrant during the course of their contract with BC Hydro will be retained by BC Hydro to satisfy EGBC Bylaws. Education and Skills University graduate in applied science or engineering Registered Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training with Engineers & Geoscientists BC or another jurisdiction and/or eligible for registration as such with Engineers & Geoscientists BC Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken Work Assignment Requirements: As the IP MRS Project Coordinator/Engineer, you will play a pivotal role across both the Integrated Planning department and associated teams, providing valuable support through diverse tasks.

You will be an interface between Compliance subject matter experts and capital projects, so the projects may understand and execute their compliance requirements, which are complex. This position offers the opportunity to engage in: Facilitating project tracking for multiple teams. Supporting the Operations and Planning (O&P) and Sustainment Teams, including Transmission and Generation (TSTN & GSTN), in project coordination.

Attending various meetings as the IP MRS representative to ensure compliance efforts throughout projects implementation phases. Continuous development of the compliance project tracker to improve processes. Interfacing projects with the appropriate Subject Matter Experts; Ensuring projects deliver the appropriate level of detail, by anticipating the needs of compliance SMEs; understanding, classifying, and summarizing technical project information; and Communicating technical information accurately, succinctly, and consistently.

You will work along side Engineers and Subject Matter Experts and have the opportunity to learn a great deal in the way of BC Hydro initiatives, and project structures and the wide variety of BC Hydro compliance requirements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This role is as an interface between Compliance subject matter experts and various capital projects. The outcome is for projects to learn and execute their compliance requirements, which can be complex.

The role by initially be quite directed with the intention that the successful candidate would have the opportunity to grow into a knowledgeable resource who is able to become increasingly autonomous. This entails directing projects to the appropriate Subject Matter Experts; asking projects for the appropriate level of detail by anticipating the needs of compliance SMEs; understanding, classifying, and summarizing technical project information; and being able to communicate technical information accurately, succinctly, and consistently. There are also opportunities to work along side Engineers and Subject Matter Experts and provide support on other IP MRS projects.

This assignment will offer the opportunity to learn a great deal in the way of BC Hydro project initiatives, and project structures as well as about the wide variety of necessary compliance requirements to which BC Hydro must adhere.
