Job description

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is looking for an Automotive Worker to perform a variety of minor repairs and services to maintain motor vehicles. Come join this dynamic team and be part of this critical mission! Apply today!
Responsibilities

  • Places and maintains decals on vehicles, checks and replaces batteries, rotates, repairs, and replaces tires, washes, polishes, and cleans interiors and exteriors of vehicles, drains, flushes, and replaces engine, transmission, and differential grease and oils, checks, cleans, calibrates, and replaces spark plugs, cleans and replaces oil and air filters.
  • Adjusts brakes, replaces windshield wipers, and similar minor parts, assists on major overhaul jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, repairing components such as generators and water pumps, and replacing thermostats, points, electrical wiring and other items, maintains tools and equipment, and cleans work areas.
  • Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two (2) years of entry-level automotive maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.
  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
  • Able to bring and use your own tools.
  • Able to receive a favorable Tier 1 investigation result.
Desired Qualifications:
  • ASE Certification.
  • U.S. Army 91 series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma / GED.
  • Commercial Driver License with Passenger Endorsement.
Physical Demands:
  • Physical requirements to include - (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
Pay & Benefits:
    • Hourly Compensation: $19.23.
    • Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09.
