Job Description
Our client is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its accounting team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone with a bachelor's degree in accounting and up to two years of experience who is looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting. The role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining financial schedules, and assisting with financial reporting across multiple entities. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting professionals while gaining exposure to general ledger accounting, tax, fixed assets, and financial analysis in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, income, and expense entries
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, brokerage accounts, receivables, liabilities, and notes payable/receivable
  • Assist with monthly financial statement preparation for multiple entities
  • Reconcile investment data between accounting systems
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Update partner capital, equity, and investment schedules
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate account fluctuations
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
  • Record tax-related journal entries and maintain tax-basis accounting records
  • Maintain related-party debt, interest, and fee schedules
  • Track annual property tax and insurance payment schedules
  • Assist with special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed
  • Support month-end close activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
  • Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
