South Valley Farms is seeking an Accounting/Finance Intern to join our local finance team!
Summary:
The Intern role helps the accounting and finance team with everyday tasks such as accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll support, and maintaining accurate financial data.
Responsibilities:
  • Help with basic financial analysis and reports as needed. Prepare simple journal entries each month.
  • Assist with account reconciliations (fuel, balance sheet, etc.).
  • Support tracking and updates for fixed assets (additions, changes, disposals).
  • Help count and track inventory (such as chemicals).
  • Review and analyze equipment billing rates.
  • Enter data accurately into company systems (Lawson, CHIPS, FISC, OnBase, etc.).
  • Learn how the accounting department operates.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and team discussions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Currently working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
  • Willing to learn new systems (ERP systems are a plus).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Able to work in the office and meet deadlines (including occasional extended hours).
