Is a bookkeeper a good entry-level job to accountant?

A bookkeeper is a common entry-level position that provides foundational accounting skills such as data entry, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping. Gaining experience as a bookkeeper can be a useful stepping stone toward becoming an accountant, especially when combined with relevant education or certifications like an accounting degree or CPA licensure. However, transitioning to an accountant role typically requires additional training and responsibilities beyond bookkeeping tasks.
