Public Accountant positions handle taxes and audits. Tax season is very hectic for all Tax Accountants; they usually work late hours and weekends during these months.
Entry Level Accountants are generally responsible for tasks such as preparing and maintaining financial records, processing invoices, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and supporting monthly and year-end close processes. They may also help with reconciliations, data entry, and compiling financial reports under the guidance of senior accountants or supervisors. These tasks provide valuable hands-on experience and help establish a solid foundation in accounting practices. The work is often team-oriented and provides opportunities to collaborate with finance colleagues and other departments, making it a great learning environment for those new to the field.

Description & Requirements
As an intern at Forvis Mazars, you will gain valuable experience that may help you decide whether you want to start your career in audit or tax, or even whether public accounting is right for you. You will work on client engagements like those assigned to our entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries, and testing out your technical know-how. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their experience as you develop your skillset.
Depending on local office needs, internships are available in assurance, tax, or a combination of the two and can be part-time or full-time. Generally, winter semester internships run from early-January through April 15th, and summer internships can typically run from early-June through mid-August.
