Job description

Our client is a national leader for employee payroll and tax services.  They are seeking an Entry level Tax Specialist to join their growing team in Sterling, VA.  As a tax specialist, you will play an integral role in providing entry-level support with handling their clients tax needs. 
Location: Sterling, VA
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30A-5:00P
Compensation: $20.00-$25.00 hourly


Responsibilities: 

  • Handle payroll tax preparation and filing.
  • Research and resolve various tax notices.
  • Manage payroll tax accounting and unemployment tax rate maintenance.
  • Open and close tax accounts with Federal, State, and Local authorities.
  • Represent clients when communicating with tax agencies.
  • Consult with clients regarding employment laws and tax issues


Requirements: 

  • Associates degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel skills (a basic skills assessment will be administered)
  • Strong data entry skills and accuracy
  •  Customer service experience with an attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
