POSITION SUMMARY

The Customer Administrative Representative position is responsible for working with the customer group on multiple company accounts. This includes data entry, check calls, updating and organizing customer-related activities, updating customers through email and customer portals, scheduling pickup and delivery appointments, and assisting and managing customer ARs. Tasks include, but are not limited to, communicating and coordinating with shippers and operations to develop higher volumes. The Customer Administrative Representative works closely with operations staff, shippers, consignees, and dispatchers to further develop customer relationships and secure additional freight opportunities.


JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop account relationships with multiple contacts at all levels within customer organizations
  • Identify opportunities to further develop accounts
  • Identify potential issues, seek input from others to determine the best course of action, and implement solutions
  • Prepare quotes and pricing for spot and contract freight
  • Manage customer expectations through the creation and utilization of account-specific metrics
  • Contribute to the development of the annual account management plan and budget
  • Provide updates to internal teams in addition to quarterly reviews and make adjustments as needed


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, BACKGROUND, AND EDUCATION)

  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 1+ years of consecutive experience in Customer Service, Customer Management, or logistics (freight brokerage or 3PL preferred)
  • Proven capabilities with problem-solving skills on an individual basis and in conjunction with team members
  • Experience coordinating multi-party business activities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable adapting to multiple customer management systems and technology platforms
