Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage finished goods warehouse operations at assigned Third Party Logistics (3PL) vendors. Responsible for maintaining warehouse service level to internal and external customers. Serves as the liaison with Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers at assigned location(s).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manages and coordinates refrigerated warehousing operations, including but not limited to create, maintains and implements refrigerated warehousing policies and SOP at 3PL managed locations, approves credits and debits, ensures safe handling of product in accordance with GFSI and company policy, ensures proper packaging, placarding and configuration of goods for handling, including barcoding, track overages, shortages and damages, coordinates warehousing schedules on regular time and holidays, coordinates and optimize schedules and minimize potential overtime.
  • Tracks and reports each location KPS and 3PL invoicing.
  • Manages inventory including the correlation between GL, warehouse and 3PL records; monitors orders and product rotation in collaboration with Demand Planners and Product Management.
  • Implements and maintains SAP in collaboration with IT.
  • Serves as the local warehousing contact for product withdrawals and recalls, researches and analyzes company hold and release programs in collaboration with QA team.
  • Manage and supervise direct reports including but not limited to, talent attraction and retention, training, performance management evaluation, development and coaching personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or equivalent or equivalent work experience
  • Five (5) years' Warehousing Management experience
  • Five (5) years' vendor management experience
  • Three (3) years' leadership experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES

  • Proficient with Microsoft office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Inventory management systems such as SAP and AS400 with an understanding of warehouse and transportation EDI transactions
  • Knowledge of GS1 standards for the food industry
  • Familiar with USDA and FDA regulations for food distribution, including FSMA
  • Must possess organization skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to meet various deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization; must be able to clearly articulate technical ideas to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment
  • The ability to read and understand Profit and Loss statements, blueprints and production reports

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

Able to travel up to 20 percent of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a time

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
