Job description

Position
As a Design Engineer, you will develop and design detailed drawings of our products using company-established drawing standards. Towmaster Designers process sales orders into design packages to be built by our skilled manufacturing team.
Responsibilities:
  • Use engineering principles that meet company design standards as well as Federal and State requirements.
  • Prepare designs and detail drawings from sales orders.
  • Investigate, assess, and implement change requests.
  • Assist production to resolve various design issues that may arise.
  • Assist the part sales and warrant department with questions that may arise.
  • Work independently or in a team setting.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient with 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Proficient with 2D software such as AutoCAD, Draftsight, etc.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work in an organized fashion with little direction.
  • Math skills associated with mechanical design.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
