Job Title: Extruder OperatorJob DescriptionAs an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the operation of the extrusion line from raw material input to finished product. This role offers multiple shifts, including rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, with initial training from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday, for two weeks.
Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and warehouse.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures and reporting unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Uphold the company's quality standards.
- Operate the extrusion line and its functions including machine setup, films and resins management, color concentrates and additives adjustment, production speed control, and more.
- Maintain extruded product to required specifications such as gauge, length, width, bond strength, color, and surface finish, performing quality control tests as needed.
- Record data in the daily production log book and quality control documents.
- Follow the production schedule and necessary documents to meet customer orders.
- Communicate any line malfunctions promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills- Proficient in machine operation, extrusion, and general labor tasks.
- Ability to read production tickets.
- Capable of working at an accelerated pace.
- Competent in performing math calculations and using measuring instruments.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Computer literate with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience or a forklift certification.
