Maintenance Technician - Entry Level

$20 - $25/Hour | 4-Day Work Week
Location: 47 Market St. Gardiner, ME 04345
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM
Walk-Ins welcome! On the spot interview available Tuesday - Thursday 10:00am - 3:00pm

Looking for a hands-on career opportunity?

We're seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new skills. Previous maintenance experience is helpful, but we're willing to train someone with a strong work ethic, basic tool knowledge, and a desire to learn.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with building and facility maintenance projects
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Complete basic repairs, painting, drywall patching, and carpentry tasks
  • Help maintain grounds, including seasonal snow removal
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Respond to maintenance requests and support facility operations
What We're Looking For
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic hand tools
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Previous maintenance, construction, landscaping, automotive, military, warehouse, or trade experience is a plus, but not required
 

Additional Requirements & Responsibilities


Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Performs Daily/Monthly/Quarterly Preventive Maintenance and safety checks 
  • Performs maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
  • Maintains, replaces, builds, adjusts, and modifies the facilities, buildings, and the grounds according to a set schedule and in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and keep maintenance area orderly and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal; demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
High School Diploma or GED
6+ months experience in the facilities maintenance field
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter;
Adhere to OSHA safety regulations approved standards, policies and procedures
Interface with peers, staff, vendors, contractors to appropriately resolve issues.
Be able to be on-call
