Company Background:
Refractors, Inc. is a multi-brand sports trading card amp; memorabilia services company. We provide services to sports card collectors, hobbyists amp; investors in multiple aspects of the collectibles industry. Our retail store (Midwest Cards) serves the public in the entertainment hub for Columbus sports arenas. The office and shop are located in the Arena District, near the Nationwide Arena, the new Crew Stadium, and Huntington Park.
Job Description:
The Card Store Retail Associate will be responsible for working retail shifts (nights and weekends) at the card shop. Knowledge of sports amp; collectible trading cards is a must as our staff must be able to help with customer questions ranging from finding the right product for their needs, or reviewing their collections to find cards we may want to trade for or purchase.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
  • Customer service amp; sharing product knowledge
  • Usage of Clover POS (point of sale) amp; laptop computer
  • Assist with store operations
  • Stocking amp; retail operations
  • Occasional assignments needed to help the business on a daily basis to maintain operations and serve our customers.
Skills amp; Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of sports and/or trading cards hobby
  • Ability to work on your own by taking direction or key-action items from a manager and then breaking work into executable steps, and accomplishing that work in a timely manner
  • Confident in-person customer service experience
  • Understanding of e-commerce marketplace platforms is preferred, such as BigCommerce, eBay, Shipstation amp; Netsuite.
  • An understanding, following and passion for professional sports is preferred.
  • Knowledge of TCG cards is a plus
Expectations:
  • Weekday card shop shifts may vary based on staffing needs, but will be communicated in advance: Assigned shifts will be Monday - Friday, between 4pm - 10pm EST
  • Weekend card shop shifts may vary based on staffing needs, but will be communicated in advance: Assigned shifts will be on Saturdays and Sundays, between 10am - 10pm EST
Education, Qualifications, Language:
  • Valid US Driver's License
  • 2+ Years of professional work experience
  • Bachelor's degree or additional professional experience preferred
  • Hiring contingent on a background check
  • English fluency (Required)
  • Additional language fluency is a plus
